Important Information…

• Willow Point Vet provides services in Maryland.  Appointments are generally available Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9:30 am to 5pm.
• Each patient has a unique response to acupuncture treatment.  With many conditions, multiple treatments are necessary to provide a significant improvement.  Although some cases will respond very well to a single treatment, most will require 3-6 treatments or more.  Initially, most patients will be seen once a week.  Once significant response to treatment is achieved, the interval between sessions will be extended.
• Although most patients tolerate acupuncture treatment well, there will be the occasional patient that is not amenable to having needles placed.  Herbal treatment alone may be a better option for such cases.
• Patients need to be relatively clean and dry at the start of the appointment.  Bathing prior to the appointment is not necessary unless your pet is muddy or excessively soiled.  Due to increased risk of complications, if you pet’s coat is wet upon arrival, your appointment will be automatically rescheduled and the travel charge will be forfeited. 
  
• Payment is due at time of service.  Cash and major credit cards are accepted.  Discounted prepaid packages are available.  Contact Willow Point for more information.

House Calls…

All appointments will be done in the comfort of your own home, which will allow your pet relax in a familiar environment.  When booking appointments, you will be given an arrival window of one hour.  Travel charges are calculated based on the distance traveled to your home.  Please contact Willow Point for an accurate cost.  Discounted travel charges are available if a group would like to scheduled back-to-back appointments at the same location. 

Appointments…

First time patient consultation appointments will generally last an hour and a half to two hours.  Subsequent appointments generally last an hour to an hour and a half.  A history will be obtained, followed by a brief physical exam and acupuncture treatment.  If indicated, additional treatment with aquapuncture, hemopuncture, or electroacupuncture may be performed.  Once treatment is completed, your pet should be allowed to rest for the remainder of the day.  Many patients will be more relaxed and even sleepier for a day or two following acupuncture treatment.
