Leslie Breitinger, DVM, CVA
Dr. Breitinger grew up in Miami, FL and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Miami. She attended Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, where she obtained her veterinary medical degree in 2011. After completing internships at Equine Reproduction Concepts and The Piedmont Equine Practice in Virginia, she joined Monocacy Equine in Maryland as an associate veterinarian. She was exposed to the benefits of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) when colleagues from all parts of the world shared their success stories in using TCVM to treat a vast array of conditions. Most notably, were the cases of geriatric patients who gained a “new lease on life” and the patients with intervertebral disc disease who were able to regain some motor function.
Dr. Breitinger decided to pursue training at The Chi Institute in Florida, a well renown program for Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. With the teachings and guidance of Dr. Huisheng Xie (founder of the Chi Institute) and several other wonderful veterinary acupuncturists, she became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist for both small and large animals in 2019. This newly discovered world of TCVM was so thrilling, that Dr. Breitinger decided to leave behind her western training to found Willow Point Veterinary Acupuncture, LLC. With her newfound training and business, she could focus on alternative and integrative treatments that can vastly improve the quality of live of many animals, both family pets and competitive athletes.
